CAMERA OBSCURA/DUSTY LACHOWICZ

.

Based on the natural phenomenon that in Latin means “Dark Chamber,” the film plays as a parable for our times and our constant need for attention, exposure, and seduction.

Shot in cinematic style with meticulously composed black and white photography, “Camera Obscura” toys with the ideas of Narcissism, our relentless pursuit of gratification from admiration of one’s idealized self-image and attributes.
However, it ultimately reflects on the surmounting sense of loneliness we are experiencing in these times.
Technology allows us all the chance to recreate an identity that most times are the manipulation of reality. The creator and expectator become addicted to a fantasy. However, the more attention and exposure , the more distance is created.

Are we really connecting or Are we living in a Dark Chamber?
